Questions about the Pensacola, FLA area for a family vacation?
We’re a family of 4 with two adult children(21 and 17) We’ve been to the gulf coast of Florida near Fort Myers Beach, but never Pensacola. We are planning a trip at the end of May and have these questions for those who’ve been there:
1) what area is best (Destin, Fort Walton Beach, etc ) and why
2) we love the beach-golf-shopping-spa-dining – which area has all these withing walking distance (or nearby)
3)hows the weather in May?
Finally – we are considering the Inn at Crystal Beach – ??Any comments/suggestions?

well i would pick destin over fort walton beach, destin is more tourist friendly and has great shopping (which is best in sand destin, which is basically a section of destin that is kinda more fancy)! (i live in pensacola fl) and destin’s waters are absoloutley beautiful! i would suggest catching a boat ferry and going to crab island, its not actually an island but an extremely large sandbar and is a total party hotspot for local and tourists. and while your in destin if your decide to go i would also suggest visiting the “big kahunas” water park, its awesome! and the weather in florida is usually great in may, not too hot or humid but not cold at all.
pensacola is also awesome, though the shopping is more beach related but its totally awesome, but the beach is phenonmenal! the beaches are usually a little more crowded than destin but i prefer them rather than destin. white sand, and its beautiful, many clubs, hotels, fine dining, and beach activities and fun. pensacola does have more activities in my opinion though, but i highley reccommend pensacola or destin. but im sorry i havent heard of the inn at crystal beach.
